EMSculpt® uses high-intensity focused electromagnetic (HIFEM) technology to induce supramaximal muscle contractions. These powerful contractions are beyond what you can achieve through voluntary workouts, resulting in both muscle growth and fat reduction.
Muscle Building: EMSculpt stimulates intense muscle contractions, remodeling the inner structure of your muscles. This leads to enhanced muscle growth and strength.
Fat Reduction: The high-intensity contractions also initiate a metabolic reaction that breaks down fat cells, which are then naturally eliminated by your body.
A typical treatment takes about 30 minutes. Using specialized applicators, the EMSculpt® device transmits electromagnetic energy to the targeted muscles. After patients are in a comfortable position, the energy is applied at a lower setting and increases until it reaches the upper therapeutic range.
During the treatment phase, EMSculpt® sends high-intensity focused electromagnetic (HIFEM) energy into the muscle causing it to contract. This sensation may seem a little prickly at first, as the contractions begin and the body accommodates them.
The EMSculpt® machine cycles through different phases- some contractions will be rapid and light, and others are more intense. intermittently, a series of mild shock waves are applied to help flush out the lactic acid from the muscles, reducing post-treatment soreness.
Patients can resume all regular activities immediately after their treatment session.
After each treatment, the body begins to rebuild and remodel the treated muscle and your muscles may feel slightly fatigued the following day. Patients can resume regular activity, including exercise, immediately with no needed downtime.
Studies of this treatment have shown increased muscle mass and reduction in adipose tissue for treated patients. One study showed an increase in muscle mass of about 17% and fat reduction of approximately 19%. This equating to a stronger inner core and smaller waist line or higher, tighter glutes.

Several treatments in close succession are recommended to achieve optimal results from Emsculpt®. We suggest that patients start with four to six treatments and maintain results with a follow-up treatment every six months.
Emsculpt® should not be uncomfortable. After treatment, patients may experience some slight soreness, similar to after an intense workout. This side effect should fade within 24 hours of treatment.
Emsculpt® requires no downtime or missed work. Patients can resume their regular daily activities, including exercise, immediately.
