Understanding the liquid Facelift

Dermal fillers and cosmetic injectables neuromodulators like Botox are used to refresh the skin’s appearance. By combining several different types of dermal fillers the face is rejuvenated from brow to chin, helping to restore lost volume and provide a more youthful and rested appearance without the need for any cuts, incisions, or stitches.

Most activities are allowed immediately after treatment. We will ask you to avoid strenuous exercise and laying down for several hours to ensure your injections remain where they are placed.

What to Expect from a Non-Surgical Facelift

Customized treatments are essential to achieving the best possible liquid facelift results. We meet individually with each patient to create a personalized plan, where we’ll examine your face, target specific facial zones, and choose the best injectables for each area. Often, a liquid facelift combines several different dermal fillers to create optimal rejuvenation.

Recovery After a Non-Surgical Facelift

Recovery is typically rapid after a non-surgical facelift. Your injector may ask you to avoid a few activities temporarily:

  • Wait to reapply make up for 12 hours
  • Limit exercise, sun and heat exposure, alcohol for 24 hours after treatment
  • Do not lay down for a few hours after your injections.
  • Resist massaging or rubbing the treatment areas.
  • Do not take NSAID pain medications for a few days before or after treatment (Motrin, Advil, and Aleve are a few popular ones).
  • Tell your provider if you are considering laser, chemical peels or any other treatments after the procedure.

FAQs Liquid Facelift

Most patients report minimal pain and discomfort. Many injectables contain lidocaine in their formulation. Lidocaine is an anesthetic that numbs the skin and increases your comfort during the injection and recovery process.

Visual changes to your appearance will be immediate after a dermal filler treatment.  Initially, swelling and redness will appear, subsiding in 24-72 hours. Noticeable effects from Botox injections can take a bit longer and will present within 3-5 days on average. If you’re receiving your liquid facelift in preparation for a big event, it would be best to schedule a few weeks in advance.

While results are not permanent, with regular touchups, you can enjoy ongoing prolonged results.

Depending on the types of dermal fillers selected and what areas are injected the length of the results will vary. If you have full correction, a liquid face lift can last up to two years. Typically, patients come in once a quarter for evaluation and possible reinjection and to maintain results. Neuromodulators will require maintenance quicker than fillers and highly mobile areas of the face (such as the mouth) tend to need to be retreated before the other areas.

The cost of your treatment will depend on many factors including the types of fillers and injectables your provider recommends. In general, non-surgical options are less expensive than their surgical alternatives. With over 10 years of experience in aesthetics, I am passionate about helping clients feel confident and refreshed in their own skin. I love working at Perceptions because of the strong sense of teamwork and support among our staff, which truly enhances the experience we provide to every client. I’ve been an esthetician for almost 18 years – 7 of those working at Perceptions. What I love about Perceptions is that from employee to client, anyone that steps into our clinic feels like extended family. We are always here for you and each other – and looking for the best treatment for our patients. We want you to feel well cared for from start to finish. My favorite is microneedling. Being able to help someone age naturally, and yet looking like they age backwards! Outside of work my favorite thing is spending time in nature with our pup and first baby girl, Nori.

Melanie has been working as an aesthetic provider for five years and absolutely loves helping clients feel like the best version of themselves. In addition to her work in aesthetics, she also works full-time in the emergency department at the hospital.

Outside of the workplace you can find her spending time with her husband and her pup Luna. Fun facts: She loves Chipotle so much that she had them cater her wedding! At 13 she was able to hit 75 mph fastballs. She’s a HUGE Disney girl!
